Supporting the Expansion the UK’s Iconic Neapolitan Pizzeria Brand

Mission Mars, the team behind some of the UK’s most celebrated hospitality venues – including Albert’s Schloss and Rudy’s Pizza – set out to expand Rudy’s into two of Manchester’s suburban hotspots: Altrincham and Prestwich.

Rudy’s already had a cult following in its hometown of Manchester and beyond, but expanding into the suburbs required a fresh approach to community engagement. These areas have fiercely loyal independent scenes, so our challenge wasn’t just about launching – it was about integrating. We needed to ensure Rudy’s wasn’t seen as competition but as a welcome addition that brought value to the local business scene.

Each area brought two distinct challenges that needed to be tackled:

  • Altrincham: With planning applications already public, the launch buzz risked fizzling out before we even got started. Our challenge? Keep the momentum alive and evolve the narrative.
  • Prestwich: A December launch meant cutting through the festive noise while ensuring Rudy’s community-first ethos took centre stage.

Objectives

Our goal? Ensure Rudy’s Altrincham and Prestwich launched with undeniable impact, establishing them as neighbourhood favourites from day one. We developed a targeted, community-first approach to PR, influencer marketing, and local engagement that amplified awareness and excitement in both areas.

What we did.

To ensure Rudy’s became a neighbourhood favourite from day-dot, we crafted a strategy that blended high-impact PR, influencer-led buzz, and hyper-local community engagement.

PR That Landed

We took a tactical phased approach to our press office, ensuring every key moment throughout the campaign – announcement, launch date, giveaways, and opening day – secured top-tier regional press as well as hyper-local titles. Our focus? Making sure the news didn’t just land but resonated with the locals who mattered most.

This momentum-building approach meant Rudy’s wasn’t just opening – it was making headlines.

Influencer-Led Hype

Once the doors opened, we brought in a carefully curated mix of Manchester’s top foodies, lifestyle creators, and hyper-local influencers for a first look (and slice) of the new venue. Their organic content helped drive social buzz, spreading excitement (and mouthwatering pizza shots) across platforms including Instagram and TikTok.

Community-Driven Engagement

Staying true to Rudy’s community-first ethos, we made sure locals felt part of the whole journey by engaging with local businesses, launching special competitions just for local residents and boosted local mailing list sign ups to keep the community locked in long after the doors opened.

A well-executed mix of PR, influencer activations, and community outreach ensured Rudy’s was cemented as a neighbourhood favourite in both locations.
