Putting down roots in Manchester’s newest community

The Castings, a brand-new Build To Rent community in Manchester’s up-and-coming Piccadilly East, was set to open its doors to residents in Summer 2024.

With 352 homes to rent sitting in the heart of the next generation of the city, The Castings was set to become the city’s hottest new BTR, as a bustling, community-led development.

Prior to launching, Scoop were brought on to build hype around this gorgeous, design-led development and drive enquiries from potential residents.

Objectives

  • To raise awareness of the new independent, design-led apartments in Manchester’s new neighbourhood, Piccadilly East
  • To drive enquiries to The Castings website and secure tenants for the new BTR apartments

What we did.

We kicked off the campaign with a crafted pre-lease press release, announcing the arrival of The Castings to Piccadilly East, teasing its USPs – such as its beautiful communal areas: high-spec yoga room and gym, games room, private dining spaces, breathtaking rooftop terrace and a work hub. We also highlighted the three retail and F&B units that would sit at the ground floor – set to provide additional amenities for residents and those in the surrounding area. This release built a sense of anticipation for potential residents – giving a small insight into how life would be at The Castings.

To keep the momentum going, we crafted a wider piece on the development of Piccadilly East in relation to The Castings to build intrigue. This release centred around The Castings’ ideal location – anchored within the ever-developing Piccadilly East, which was named in the Sunday Times coveted list of best places to live.

Finally, we crafted a now open press release which included details of the public-facing launch party, which aimed to give people a real insight into what life will be like for The Casting’s residents and to further drive sign-ups & enquiries about the building.

Across the three releases, we saw 41 pieces of coverage – with a total reach of 18M! Including 2 amazing stand-alone pieces in Manchester Evening News showcasing The Castings and its stunning spaces, with headlines reading:

Once the building was complete we worked with the team to invite key media and local influencers to The Castings to enjoy a day of events showcasing the various spaces and getting a hands-on experience of what life at The Castings would be like for those moving in. The daytime event included:

  • A gym class with creator Meg Landi
  • Vision boarding + skyline sketching with HEADS and Sketch
  • Terrarium-making workshop with Northern Flower

In the evening, we invited a select number of influencers to come down and enjoy the public-facing event in collaboration with Diecast, Nell’s Pizza, Cloudwater and Hacien Tequila – getting an exclusive look at the beautiful spaces available to rent.

Overall, we saw 15 influencers attending the launch events, gaining 54 pieces of coverage off the back of these visits – reaching a total audience of 489K.
