Meet the team: Kara

  1. What is your role at Scoop?

I have just joined the team as a Senior PR & Marketing Executive at Scoop, I started my career in PR whilst on my industrial placement year where I worked across B2B, hospitality and food & drink consumer clients in an agency in Birmingham. More recently, I have worked across one of the UK’s leading sports nutrition brands which gave me a wealth of knowledge working on a global account, reporting and media relations. I am looking forward to getting stuck into all the exciting clients at Scoop and watching them grow!

  1. Which is the best PR/Marketing project you’ve worked on?

I have worked on some really fun projects over my short PR career so far, one of my favourite campaigns I have worked on has been for Popeyes! Within my first few weeks, we launched the first North West venue in Liverpool where I volunteered myself to get some fun Popeyes inspired nails (which were so long, I had to have them cut down the following day)!

  1. What’s your favourite thing to do in Manchester?

I love to eat, so naturally, it is going out for food! I am a huge foodie and I love that Manchester has new restaurants opening every day and week, this means I never get bored and there is always something new to try. I also love to keep an eye out for any happy hours or deals because who doesn’t love a good bargain?! My current go-to spot is Ciaooo, £3 Aperol Spritz and the best pizza in Manchester, yes please!

  1. What motivates you?

Being surrounded by my friends, family and colleagues who can inspire and motivate me to do better and do more! I love speaking to new people and hearing about their experiences and how they got where they are now. I am also highly motivated by the successes of the people around me as this helps me aspire to work to the same standard (or higher)!

  1. What do you do in your spare time?

I love to spend time with my friends and family in my spare time, whether this is going for a walk around Manchester (or the lakes), going for lunch or having a few drinks! I also enjoy spending time with myself whether this is going to the gym, watching netflix or doing my own nails!
