Archie's Atomic at Trafford Palazzo, Manchester

From Smash Burgers to Skates: The Launch That Got Manchester Rolling

Archie’s, the iconic Manchester-born brand known for bold burgers and pink vibes,  was ready to level up. Enter Archie’s Atomic: a roller rink and leisure space set to redefine their identity.

Our job? Launch the concept with a bang, amplify brand awareness, and show Archie’s is more than just burgers. We set out to draw in new audiences, highlight their dedication to unforgettable experiences, and position the venue as the new go-to spot for feel-good fun for all ages – all while keeping the beloved Archie’s brand at the heart of it.

Objectives

We set out to make Archie’s Atomic the city’s next big talking point. From day one, the strategy was built around clear, consistent storytelling – showing Manchester that Archie’s was stepping into a whole new space, without losing the fun and flavour it’s known for. A phased press office rollout ensured every milestone moment hit – from first-look teasers to a full reveal that landed with impact. We created momentum with media previews and behind-the-scenes tours that stirred curiosity and drove early buzz. A STANDOUT launch party only amplified the hype even further – a carefully curated guestlist and social moments helped flood feeds, spark FOMO, and cement Atomic’s spot as the must-visit venue of the moment.

Archie’s was already a Manchester icon, known for its ridiculously good smash burgers. But launching Archie’s Atomic – a completely new concept – was a whole different ball game. The messaging had to be spot on. With a new concept aimed at families and younger crowds, the target audience expanded, and we had to make sure every piece of comms was crystal clear. It was key to position Atomic as the must-visit destination for fun in Manchester, making sure the new concept stood out without losing the Archie’s essence.

What we did.

Press Office:
We kicked things off with a comprehensive press office strategy to get Archie’s Atomic in front of as many eyes as possible, securing strong regional media coverage, including a full-page print feature in Manchester Evening News, as well as key industry placements in titles such as MCA Insight and Restaurant. To build that all-important buzz and drive pre-bookings, we organised media hard hat tours that gave press a sneak peek of the venue, generating buzz across regional outlets and social platforms. A week before launch, we held media previews, inviting Manchester’s top media to get an exclusive first look. These previews helped rack up nearly a million views across media and social channels, building significant hype leading up to opening day and making sure Manchester was eagerly anticipating the big reveal.

Launch Party:
When it came to launch night, we didn’t just throw a party – we threw an experience. Full event management, including a pink carpet and show-stopping performances that brought the venue to life. We helped manage a stellar guest list featuring key Manchester influencers, local celebrities, and over 25 media contacts. The launch party became a content goldmine, with over 200 pieces of content shared across social, generating over 400k views – creating massive visibility and cementing Archie’s Atomic as Manchester’s newest hot spot.

Social Consultation:
We committed to ensuring both Archie’s and Archie’s Atomic brands remained consistent, engaging, and on-message throughout the launch, consulting on social to ensure a strong mix of content.  From consulting on the hero video to capturing UGC, to supporting shoot supplier management, we kept the momentum rolling throughout the launch period. The result? A continuous buzz that kept the brand front and centre in Manchester’s social feeds, ensuring Archie’s Atomic owned conversations.
