Dunham Massey Light Trail

Lighting Up Festive Season with RG Live

Two iconic locations. Two totally different seasonal experiences. One mission: get everyone talking.
RG Live brought us on board to supercharge two of the North West’s most magical seasonal events – the launch of Halloween at Quarry Bank Mill and the return of Christmas at Dunham Massey – delivered in partnership with the National Trust and Sony.

Halloween at Quarry Bank was a brand new immersive trail for 2024, transforming the historic estate into a world of eerie enchantment with glowing pumpkins, a ghostly horseman and interactive elements designed to delight all ages. Meanwhile, Christmas at Dunham Massey returned with its signature sparkle – a breathtaking after-dark light trail complete with glowing tunnels, a festive soundtrack, and seasonal food and drink for the ultimate xmas experience.

We were brought on to dial up the magic with a social-first approach focused on influencer buzz, content moments, and first-look experiences that would position both events as must-visits on the festive calendar

The Challenge.

With festive trails popping up across the UK, the seasonal calendar was more crowded than ever –  and standing out in a saturated space wasn’t easy. We needed to cut through the noise, build real hype, and keep these events front-of-mind for families looking to lock in their plans.

2024 also marked the very first Halloween trail at Quarry Bank, which meant awareness needed to be built from scratch. With traditional PR already in motion, our job was to elevate visibility through social-first content, trusted reviews, and moments worth sharing – all while driving early interest and post-launch momentum.

The Solution.

We delivered a two-part campaign that put both light trails front and centre of the festive conversation. From curated launch nights with regional celebs, social-first press and creators to tailor-made invites and immersive press experiences, every detail was designed to drive early bookings and get people talking.By pairing recognisable celebs with trusted local creators & press outlets – and with the standout trails making it easy for guests to capture content worth sharing – each launch night delivered scroll-stopping moments that built awareness and helped drive ticket sales.

Our Approach.

Press & Influencer Strategy:

We kicked things off with a strong social-first PR plan, designed to complement existing media outreach plans. For both trails, we built out VIP guest lists featuring a mix of high-profile names, social-first press and trusted local creators – all invited to exclusive first-look experiences that helped flood social feeds of our target audience and drive awareness.

Those in attendance were briefed on key messaging to get the word out – and encouraged to share booking links across their socials, in an effort to drive ticket sales.

  • At Quarry Bank, the Halloween trail welcomed guests like Catherine Tyldesley, Natasha Waters, and The Manc for a night of autumn magic and family fun
  • At Dunham Massey, the Christmas trail delivered pure festive joy, with appearances from Samia Longchambon, Coral Aslund, Saskia Marriott, and Zoe Rae Hague

Launch Night Management:

We didn’t just send invites – we took an active role in every stage of the launch nights. On-site, we hosted and helped create scroll-stopping moments that ensured the experience ran smoothly and left a lasting impression.

Working closely with the RG Live team, we supported guest engagement and captured content that kept the excitement going beyond the trails.

Content That Shines:
The trails were designed to feel magical, and our role was to help guests and the on-site photographer turn that atmosphere into vibrant, shareable content that captured the seasonal spirit. From family-friendly fun to festive highlights, we focused on creating content that sparked joy and got people talking across social channels.
